Information For First-Time Guests

"What are the times for Bible study & worship?"

SUNDAY

Sunday School - 9:30 AM
On Sunday mornings, our Christian Education ministry hosts Sunday School classes for all age groups starting at 9:30 AM. Through our education ministry, we are seeking to nurture thinking minds and compassionate hearts for the kingdom of God. We have a distinctive approach called Godly Play for teaching children the Bible stories that shape the Christian faith.

Worship Service - 10:45 AM
Our primary service of worship begins at 10:45 every Sunday morning. Worship at Immanuel may be described as "traditional" with a "warm" formality.  We seek to remain faithful to the streams of the Christian tradition and our Baptist heritage that have shaped us as a community of worshiping believers. In our services, we seek to create an atmosphere in which people encounter the presence and power of the Living God and are invited to seek the joyful and abundant life that is found only through following the narrow way that leads to life.

WEDNESDAY

Shepherd's Table - 4:50 p.m.
This is a time for nurturing friendships and deepen relationships as we share a meal together. The cost is $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children up to age 12.  First-time guests eat free.

Sanctuary Choir - 7:05 p.m.

"Where can I park and enter the building?"

Our primary parking area is behind our church building off Sycamore Drive. You may also park on Buckner Lane in front of the church and along Sycamore Drive. There are entrances from each of these parking areas.

"How should I dress?"

There is no dress code at Immanuel, and we hope you will come in whatever manner of dress is comfortable for you. Some people wear traditional Sunday dress - suit and tie or sport coats for men, and dresses, skirt and blouse, or slacks and shirt for women. Other people dress more casually - what some folks may call business casual. Our children and youth sometimes dress up for church, but they are often in the same clothes they would wear to school.

"Are there activities for children and youth?"

Immanuel pursues excellence in our ministry to children and youth. Christina Crice serves as our Director of Children's Ministry, and Gina Brock is our Associate Minister with responsibilities for ministering to middle school and high school students as well as young adults. Christina and Gina are assisted by a large number of volunteers.

Beyond the many opportunities for Bible study, music education, and social interaction, we seek to nurture a mission consciousness among our children and youth. We send them out to do missions in our city and beyond.

"Are there activities for senior adults?"

There are a variety of activities for senior adults for Immanuel. Sunday School classes assist in forming relationships in small groups. From gentle exercises on Tuesday mornings to out of town trips in the spring and fall, there are many opportunities of fellowship and service for seniors.

"What is the Immanuel Preschool?"

The Immanuel Preschool is a ministry of Immanuel. Dana Price is the director. The Preschool offers classes for children age two to pre-kindegarten. Immanuel Preschool is a structured half-day program.

"Who are you affiliated with?"

Immanuel is affiliated with the West Union Baptist Association, the Kentucky Baptist Convention, the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, the Southern Baptist Convention, and the Baptist World Alliance.

We also partner with several Christian ministries in Paducah - Martha's Vineyard, Paducah Cooperative Ministry, River City Mission, St. Nicolas Clinic, and Western Kentucky Christian Counseling.

"Is there someone I can speak with?"

The church office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. You may also email the church office at ibc@vci.net. If you wish to speak directly with any of our staff members, click here.
